The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there Is at l;ast one dreaded disease that science has been able to cure in all its stages, and that is catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the disease, and giving the patient strength by building up the constitution and as sisting nature in doing its work. "It Is asserted that by accepting the position as arbitrator no responsibility attaches to the United States. That may be true, but at the same time the foreign powers will naturally expect the United States to assume certain obligations In support of any decision the president may render. The course of the president and the secretary of state has thus far been firm, but entirely neutral, and I have no reason to believe that thero will be any material change In our policy which may involve us in serious complications with any of the parties to the Venezuelan controversy." He has been In Kentucky several months, and no secret was made of the fact that his mission was to get control of as much coal property as possible.London, Dcc. 23.—Most Reverend Frederick Temple, the Archbishop of Canterbury, died at 8.15 this morning. The end was most peaceful. The archbishop has not been a well man since before the coronation of King Edward. He had suffered from nervousness for several years and the affection reached a climax during the coronation. When the duties of receiving the King's oath had been completed, the Archbishop had to be led from the Abbey, on account of weakness. At that time he was confined to his room for some weeks, but seamed to be regaining his wonted health, until he suffered a relapse about three weeks ago. "I do not put It too strongly when I say that It is ridiculous for Germany and Great Britain to ask the president of the United States to arbitrate this case. There Is a precedent for such action on the part of a president In boundary disputes and In cases where the disputes have not reached the point of war. But there Is no precedent for such arbitration when once a state of belligerency has been established. Now is the time to repair your house or build a new one. Winter Is coming.
