No orders were given to sink them. If, however, any vessel has been sunk, this was a military measure necessary In carrying out the foregoing orders. Vienna, Dec. 13.—Three hundred vessels in the lower Danube have been crushed or sunk by immense blocks of ice. All of the vessels were loaded with grain, and the lose will foot up millions. Great Losses on the Danube. There has been great military activity in this port, and all the preparations are Indicative of a movement to resist attack. It Is significant that 300 additional troops arrived at St. Lucia from England on Wednesday. Vienna, Dec. 13.—Three hundred vessels in the lower Danube have been crushed or sunk by immense blocks of ice. All of the vessels were loaded with grain, and the lose will foot up millions. Great Losses on the Danube. There has been great military activity in this port, and all the preparations are Indicative of a movement to resist attack. It Is significant that 300 additional troops arrived at St. Lucia from England on Wednesday. Ammunition and dynamite and other munitions of War are being placed In wagons and taken away In the direction of Caracas. A train has been used In connection with tbe removal of the ammunition. Powder which was stored at' the Lavigla and Ban Carlos forts has been taken away.
