First It was the May Dance, which was eclipsed by the Blue Dance, and last evening's affair surpassed them all, The company that assembled in response to .the invitations represented many o,f the best families up and down the valley, and was probably the largest gath. ering that ever attended a dance in this city, which fact of itself is proof of the fame of the Corlnthla dances. , New York, May 1G.—Today's session of the general assembly of the Presbyterian church was made noteworthy by the presentation of a report by the committee which had been considering a revision of the confession of faith. The committee presents eleven overtures, the main ones being those relating to foreordination. The question of the salvation of infants was dealt with as follows: "We believe all dying in infancy is included In Election Grace and are regenerated anil saved by Christ through the Spirit, who works when and where and how He pleases." This will likely be the only overture to which an exception will be taken. The remainder of the revised confession is in the main a reiteration of the old rules and doctrines. Probably the chief feature of tile decorations was the floral display at the stage, which completely hid the orchestra from view. The decorations, in their entirety, were exceedingly beautiful, reflecting much credit on the decorators. People's Store, KING IS DECORATED. Keystone hall presented a very pretty scene last evening, on the occasion of the Floral Dance given by the Corlnthla club, composed Of a half dozen popular young men of the town. The event was easily the leading society function of the season in this city. The club has established a reputation for smart social affairs.
