A Passenger Train and a Wrecking Train on the Auburn Branch Collide While Running at High Speed— Alice Roosevelt Christens Five Killed and Two Injured. Auburn, N. Y„ Feb. 25.— A serious wreck occurred late last night on the Auburn branch of the New york Central railroad, near Aurellus. A passenger train and a 'wrecking train, both going at high speed, collided head on. T.ne passenger train was the regular No. 211. while the wrecking train was running l'rom Canandaigua to Syracuse. Both engines were demolished and thrown from the track. Five persons were killed outright and two others were fatally injured. All of the victims were employes of the railroad, none of the passengers being injured. The dead are: the Vessel. WINE WAS USED. Meteor, was launched this morning in the presence of President Roosevelt, Prince Henry and a company of distinguished men, Germans and Americans. Prjnce Henry and party, with President Roosevelt and party, came in two divisions of a special train over the Pennsylvania railroad. Both divisions left Washington shortly after midnight. They were due to arrive In Jersey City at 11.30 tills morning. The President's train arrived on time, but a series of accidents delayed the train bearing the royal guest over an hour and a half, arriving at N.02. The first mishap occurred liD miles this side of Baltimore, at Magnolia. The cylinder head blew out, causing a delay of over an hour at that point. VICE ADMIRAL VON TIRPlTZ. Constantinople. Kelt. A dispatch has been received here announcing that Miss Stone and Mine. Tsilka are now nt Strumltza, Ave hours' ride on horseback from the nearest station of the SQlonlka-Uskub railroad. A passenger train and a 'wrecking train, both going at high speed, collided head on. T.ne passenger train was the regular No. 211. while the wrecking train was running l'rom Canandaigua to Syracuse. Both engines were demolished and thrown from the track. Five persons were killed outright and two others were fatally injured. Prjnce Henry and party, with President Roosevelt and party, came in two divisions of a special train over the Pennsylvania railroad. Both divisions left Washington shortly after midnight. They were due to arrive In Jersey City at 11.30 tills morning. The President's train arrived on time, but a series of accidents delayed the train bearing the royal guest over an hour and a half, arriving at N.02.
