All the returns received up to 1 o'clock this morning indicate that the Republican state ticket has been elected perhaps by as much as 5,000 majority. The figures upon which this estimate is based are given on precinct returns, which show average Republican gains of about 4 to the precinct. Philadelphia, Pa., Nov, li.—William P. Potter, of Doylestown. has been elected Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and Frank G. Harris, of Clearfield, has been elected to serve as State Treasurer during the next two years. These were the regular Republican candidates and their election means that, in one of the hardest fought political battles ever waged in the Keystone State, the Republican party has maintained its supremacy and vindicated its administration oi the affairs of the Commonwealth during the past two years. All of the forces of the common enemy, the Democracy, were in the field, and. In addition, the Republican organization was compelled to fight against disaffection In Its own ranks. Men who had been exalted to high positions In the gift of the party turned their backs on the regular organization, and. joining bands with the enemy, sought, with all the power at their command, to wreck the great party which it has taken years to establish in Pennsylvania. But the election Is oyer, and the result shows that all of the work of the party wreckers went for naught. The plural itles by which the Republican candidates were elected were reduced considerably from those usually given by the State, but the figures are large enough to prove that the regular Republicans are yet in the saddle. It was clear early last night that Potter and flarrls had been victorious, and the later returns which came to hand this morning verified the earlier estimates. At noon today. It was stuted by those Who were in touch with the various rouoty organisations that the pluralities of the Republican State candidates would be in the neighborhood of 50.- 000. All of the great Republican strong holds, Including Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Lancaster and Chester, gave pluralities for the regular candidates. There Is great rejoicing at the Repubiwn headquarters In this city over the .routing that the fusion forces received in thj» State and county. All of the Union party candidates in this city were overwhelmingly defeated. The vote throughout the State was rather light, which accounts in a measure for the reduced pluralities. All the returns received up to 1 o'clock this morning indicate that the Republican state ticket has been elected perhaps by as much as 5,000 majority. The figures upon which this estimate is based are given on precinct returns, which show average Republican gains of about 4 to the precinct. The returns from 158 precincts outside of Lincoln and Omaha give Sedwick (Rep.) for supreme judge, a totnl of 15,- 070 against 12,203 for llollenbeck (fusion).Quiet Bleotlou In Nebraska, See eur eteek el blaakets, and eomlerteblee before eny puroheee eleewbere. The three men were brakemen 011 the Panhandle railroad and were In the calDoose of a freight train standing at High street station. G.—The Democrats have swept the state for Moutague, the other candidates on the general ticket and for the legislature. The indications are that the Democratic majority will be not less than 30,000.
