Those who heard the bitter arraignment uttered by Patrolman O'Neill and saw lilin shake his list in Devery's face were duinfouuded. They had looked for a lamb to be led to the sacrlllce to satisfy the demand of a citizen complainant and Devery's spite. Help was quickly summoned from the neighboring houses, ami all the assistance possible was rendered. Word was sent to Sodus Point ami Newark for physicians, and a special containing five doctors left Newark at 11:45 o'clock. There is a belief that Russia and France are systematically weakening Turkey by policy pin pricks, although no coup is immediately intended.
