(I.—At a late hour last night the Anchor Line strike, which has been in force now over a year and which, during the past few days, threatened to involve lJulTalo commerce to a serious extent, was declared off. The events were the opening, full handed, of the sheet steel mills at Wellsville, O., and Hyde Park, Pa., with nonunion men. The Hjde Park mill has I teen closed for a long time, its capacity is 7, iOO tons a year. It is a mill built by the steel workers themselves and sold by them to the trust. No disorder uttended the opening of this mill. PEOPLE'S STORED Pittsburg. Aug. C.—The strike situation in three towns today is ominous of coming violence. These towns are WeHsville, Leech burg, and McKeeBport, in this State. When the big Hyde Park mill at Leechburg started up this morning it was found that strikers, during the night, had thrown a cordon of pickets about it. Inside the fences, armed guards in the employ of the trust patrolled their posts. The strikers aro unarmed, but if the guards attempt to drive them back or cut a way through their lines for nonunion men, there will be a fight. At Wellsvllle, the sheet mills are running today with a small force of non-union men and the strikers are maintaining a closely drawn picket line. At Mc- Keesport all kinds of rumors aro circulated that non union men will be brought to reopen the mills, and the strikers tite exercising great vigilance.The lords dismissed the appeal on the ground that the acts of wrongful and malicious conspiracy were not , undertaken to advance the interests of the workmen themselves, but solely to Injure the plaint ill*. J., Aug. 0.—The home of Mrs. Stephen Demko, a Polish woman living in Dunellcn avenue, was entered by six men, who demanded her money.
