Flesh Brushes, Clothes Brushes, Its statements—with those of the Blackwood, rail Mall Gazette, and other English periodicals—were being propagated through all the young reading and writing world of America. I was meetim them advertised in dailies, and made up into articles in magazines, and thus the generation of to-day, who had no means of judging Lady Byron but by these fables of her slanderers, were being foully deceived. New Depot, May 16th,'6T. if depot it can be callcd—it does not deserve the name—has been erected at Gardner's Ferry by the Pa. & N. Y. RR. i. C. Co., which makes the people rejoice, especially the Agent, who, heretofore, had to wheel tons of chop and flour into his own buildings when the weather would not permit of its lying on an open platform The building does not add very much to the looks of the town, it being a one-sided concern built on the beam-to plan, the roof pitching all one way. However, we feel thankful for small favors, and give credit accordingly. From hence forth when anything is ordered sent to Gardner's Ferry, we shall expect to find it there, and not at the L. I must say the storm exceeded my expectations, and has raged loud and long. AND "WHOLESALE DEALERS IN ALL KINDS OF CRACKERS,. The painting was such a striking one that Byron's mother was unable to drive it from her mind, and when her son was born, the thought of the mother became life in the person of her child. The otherwise perfectness and symmetry of his form and the extreme beauty of his face, were all that saved his life, and saved to English literature a shining light, for the monstrosity of a little babe with horns, hoof and tail was too much even for the attending physician, showing rather conclusively that the origin of the soul of the child was not in that place, the keys of the frod door of which are kept by St. Peter. Our Legislature ought to pass a law, taxing dogs each— $2i would, be better—then sheep breeders would stand a little better chance, as such a law would occasion the death of at least a few more of the worthless curs that infest the country.
