The 1 {statement was made through Daniel .Davenport, her attorney, to representatives of the Bridgeport Trnst company, which has been named as ad' mlnlstrator of the Oilman estate. Mr. Davenport said: "Mrs. Potts and Miss Edna Clayton will leave the pilman house In Black Rock whenever the trust company desires It, but It must not be construed or understood that by their departure they.surrender any right claimed by Mrs. Hall. Mrs. Hall claltnB the entire estate, Including the tea store*, and bos already attached over $200,- 000 of the bank accounts of the late Mr. Oilman In this city and In New York. Mrs. Hall Is not going to light the trust cAmpany as to its appointment as administrator, but will combat the .trust company and every one else la the acquirement of the valuable prqfee'rty. Mrs. Hall will claim every part and parcel of the estate of Mr. Oilman." I The trust company was further notified by Attorney Davenport that In pursuance of lier claim to the entire estate Mrs. Halt had attached *106,000 In the Bank of North America of New York city. Other sums known to have been attached are $14,000 in the Fifth Avenue bank of New York, $25,000 in the cotton brokerage concern of Chapman, Setter & Allen of 26 Cotton Exchange, New York, and $10,000 In the Flmt National bank of this city. For a time the relatives feared that Mrs. Hail had been secretly married to the old man, and they were much relieved when she announced that she wns still Mrs. Hall. That the document held by Mrs. Hall is a record of adoption Is the only possibility that the minds of her antagonists have thus far been able to conjure up. They point out that under the laws of New York and Connecticut only minors may lDe adopted, but It 1* admitted that papers of adoption may be on file In Massachusetts or Indiana, where adoption of adults Is legal. These were In big papers, and the one was lavish in its praise, while the other was a deliberate slicing In vinegar. Both were extremely clever and well written. I promptly gave the writers a pictured existence In my mind. The good critic waa a fine fellow of 38, a lover of the classics. I chose my first opportunity to thank the one effusively and most consistently maintained a frigid demeanor to the young chap. Mrs. Hall will claim every part and parcel of the estate of Mr. Oilman." I The trust company was further notified by Attorney Davenport that In pursuance of lier claim to the entire estate Mrs. Halt had attached *106,000 In the Bank of North America of New York city.
