We Lave lately given quite a number ol articles upon the gradual exhaustation of our American soils, and we have urged the general and liberal use of concentrated and domestic fertilizers upon farmers in every section of our country. A good many people in tho United States know that we make a Raw Bone Super-Phosphate, and our regular readers also know that we have tolerably valid reasons for thinking it a good fertilizer. But we have been far from thinking or stating that ours was the only fertilizer whose use would largely remunerate the farmer. We have not sought to depreciate any manure which the market or farm economy affords, by urging the use of our own preparation. On the contrary, every meritorious help of this sort— and there are many in the eastern markets— has been commended, and its liberal use as forcibly commended as was possible with u*. The axe we have to grind ia to advocate heavy and judicious muuuring by our whole farming population aa a sure means of increasing the average yieM~per acre, and the consequent prosperity of the people; and in our chosen field of enterprise we ahall, with other established manufacturers, reap the due share of recompense from the common good.
