Dallas, Jao. 15—The oil excitement D ca uned by the recent wonderful strike at Beaumont it epreading over Texas. Daila* capitalists are nearly as much exercised over the discovery as the Beaumont people are. Private telegrams received here are to the effect that the flow of the Lucas gusher has not diminished. Machinery was nearly completed yesterday to control the flow and save the oil. It is expected that this will be accomplished by tonight. Approximately 100,000 barrels of oil have been lost. Many strangers reached Beaumont yesterday, coming mostly from the north and northwest, to inspect the new district for prospective investorn. Washington. Jan. 15.—At the clos®«jA a day of dreary discussion of technical details of the army reorganization bill Mr. Teller of Colorado, speaking to an amendment he had offered, delivered a sensational denunciation of General Eagan, formerly commissary general of the United States army. His statement included also the administration, because General Gagan had been reinstated, according to the senator's charge, as a "decoration and a reward" for his attack upon the commanding general of the army. An appeal for the early passage of the pending bill was made by Mr. Carter of Montana, who declared that delay now "additional expense of *j00,000 a day. He asked that a time be .et (or a rote, but Mr. Teller objected No progress was made with, the measure, not a single amendment being disposed of finally. PRICES.
