Ferguson, secretary of the club, annouhoed hit intention of resigning. Finally it developed into a factional fight. A meeting of the club was held and Gov. Botfie, who presided, tfated that the object of the meeting was to receive the resignation of Mr. Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson then read his letter of resignation, in which he said that it was no longer consi&tcnt with selfrjspect to hold the position of secretary because of effort* ,*n the part? of members of the executive committee to make his official life unpleasant. He said that Gov. Bowie, the president of the club, had interfered to lend the Loriilard stable to a horse owner for occupation as winter quarter*. It was 'intended to p*:t in the stable live yearling* from the west, and experience showed that disease frequently bioke out among such horses in tlio spring. On this account he refus« d the stable to the party. Gov. Bowii, in reply to this letter, said it would be Lest4o accept Ferguson's resignation. Ferguson, secretary of the club, annouhoed hit intention of resigning. Finally it developed into a factional fight. A meeting of the club was held and Gov. Botfie, who presided, tfated that the object of the meeting was to receive the resignation of Mr. Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson then read his letter of resignation, in which he said that it was no longer consi&tcnt with selfrjspect to hold the position of secretary because of effort* ,*n the part? of members of the executive committee to make his official life unpleasant. He said that Gov. Bowie, the president of the club, had interfered to lend the Loriilard stable to a horse owner for occupation as winter quarter*.
