TEN MINERS BADLY BURNED. FENIAN ARMS SEIZED IN LONDON Fire In the Diamond Shaft-Several Explosions of Gas—Names of the Victims— ■ Particulars of the Occurrence. Washington, June 1G.—Tlx-re seems to be a great deal of Democratic dissatisfaction with their; Congressional Campaign Committee, and the opinion is openly expressed by prominent Democrat* in the House that it is useless and harmful to the interests of the party. The committee was arranged, with General Rosencrnns as chairman, but it was very soon found that Rosenerans was years behind in tho management of a political campaign. One of his plans is said to have been to offset the contribution made to the Republican treasury from the Government employees by a popular ten-cent Democratic subscription; a sort of Betty and the Baby fund. This plan settled his fate. A bimrd of control was created, which should manage the campaign, and at the head of which was placed Roswell P. Flower, of New York, the man who defeated young Astor for Congress and who on coming here worked himself into prominence by a aeries of dinners to his fellow Congressmen. A now branch of tho cominittec was formed to include certain wealthy outsiders aud, contrary to tho usual custom, a uiemlDer of the House was made Secretary of the Committee. Dissatisfaction with the Committer has been going on since, and the Democratic failure in Oregon has helpod to stimulate the growth of this dissatisfaction. A disgusted Democratic member to-day cited the fact that tho first campaign document issued by the Committee was the speech of an Independent—Speer, of Georgia—a man who, though elected by the aid of Democratic votes, did not enter the parly caucus, and is found voting against the party as often as With it, aud this specch was printed at his request. Southern Democrats say that Speer will go among tho Democratic voters of his district anct use the publication of this specch as an endorsement of his Democracy by the Democratic Committed.
