The process of burning the clay, as it is called, . upon tb» strong iron armatura or skeleton on which . it stands on its pedestal, and the bendiag and filing this armatura into the form §f the limbs, constitute a work of vast labor of a purely manual sort, for whose performance all artists able to afford ii employ the skilled- workmen to be obtained it) Rome. The rough clay, rudely assuming the shape of the intended statue, then passes into the sculptor's hands and undergoes his most elaborate manipulation, by whioh it is reduoed (generally after the labor'of several months) to the precise and perfectly-finished form be desires should hereafter appear in marble. This don*, the furmataru takes a cast of the whole and the clay is destroyed. From this plaster oast again, in due time the marble is hewn by three successive workmen.— The first gives it rough outline, the seoond brings it by rule and compass to olose re semblance with the cast, and the thin finishes it to perfection. It was soon soon that the little animal was direoting its ooarse across a bay towards the nearest borders of the forest, and immediately the owner of the hound crossed the bridge, running at full speed in the same direction, hoping.to stop his dag as he landed. On the fawn swam, aa it never swam before, its delicate head ■carcely seen above the water, but loaviog a disturbed track, which betrayed itsoaurse alike to anxious friends and fierce enemies. As it approached the land, the exciting interest became intense. The hdntcr was already on the same line of shore, calling loudly and angrily to hia dog, but the animal seemed to have quite forgotten his master's voice in tho pittiless pursuit. The fawn touched the land—win one leap it had crossed the narrow piece of beach, and In another instant it would reach the cover of the woods. The hound followed, true to the scent, pointing at the same spot on the shore; his master, anxious to meet him, had run at full speed, and was now ooming up at the same critical moment.— Would the dog listen to his voice, or oould the hunter reaob him in time to Beige and oontrol him 1 A shout from the village bank proclaimed that the fawn had passed out of sight into the forest; at the same instant, the hound, as he touobed the land, folt the hunter's strong arm olutohing hi* neck. The woret was believed to be over; the fawn was leaping up the mountiin aide, and its enemy under rcstrjint. The other dogs, seeing their leader cowed, were easily managed. A number of persons, men und boya, dispersed themselves through the wood, in searob of the little creature, but without success ; they all returned to the village, reporting that the animal had not been seen by them.— Some persons thought that after its fright had passed over, it would return of its own accord. It had worn a pretty collar, with its owner's name engraved upon it, so that it oould be eisily known from any other fawn that might be straying about the woods. I ironed a bugzy for my own use seven years ago, and the tires are now as tight as when put on. My method of filling the follies with oil is as follows : I use a long cast-iron oil beater, made for the purpose; the oil is brought ftD a boiling beat, the wheel is placed on a stiok, so as to hang in the oil, each felly an hour, for a common siged felly. The timber should be dry, as green timber will not take oil. Care should be taken that the oil be not made hotter than a boiling heat, in order that the timber be not burnt. Timber filled with oil is not susceptible to water, and tbeq timber is mu«h more durable, I was amused some years ago, when I told a blacksmith how to keep the tires tight on wheels, by his telling me it was a profitable business to tighten tires, and the wagon maker will say it is profitable to him to make and repair wheels—but what will the farmer, who supports the wheelvqght and smith, IE m»deTsiC;n-ed wo»ld inform ptlblio.that havreccntiy procur• t . r ' Re ai. Timber filled with oil is not susceptible to water, and tbeq timber is mu«h more durable, I was amused some years ago, when I told a blacksmith how to keep the tires tight on wheels, by his telling me it was a profitable business to tighten tires, and the wagon maker will say it is profitable to him to make and repair wheels—but what will the farmer, who supports the wheelvqght and smith, IE m»deTsiC;n-ed wo»ld inform ptlblio.that havreccntiy procur• t . r ' Re ai. There came along a countryman, who for several years had been a hunter by pursuit, and who still kept several dogs; one of the heunds came with him to the village on this ocoasion.
