Preparations for turning \$ater into the workings are now in progress. The plan is to drill two six- Inch bore holes from the surface into the affected portion of the workings this being considered the most feasible manner of getting the water on the fire. The location of the fire is bo high that if water were turned into the inlne from the main shaft, it would be a difficult matter to force it up to the burning section. The bore holes will be located near the old Havard house. John Muirhead & Son have the contract to do the work. They have one drilling machine in operation now, and the other will be placed In operation as quickly as possible. Drilling operations will be pushed day and night. When the bore holes are finished, unless the fire has previously been conquered, water will be turned Into them and thus the mine workings will be flooded.zwgy to Resolution. tody.
