Harrisburg, June 17.—Who will succeed the Hon. John Stewart, recently appointed to succeed Justice Dean, deceased, on the Supreme bench of the state, as president judge of Franklin county, is a question which has created much interest. It has been settled as far as the leaders of the party In the state are concerned, that Judge Stewart will resign liis position In Franklin county before July, and Governor Pennypaeker will appoint to succeed him D. As the matter stands, unless King Oscar consents to nominate a prince of the house of Bernadotte for the throne Norway will no doubt become republican, and a government on the Swiss model will be adopted. Continuing, the writer says: Times Will be Kemodeled tic I toy In Columbia Persistent rumors are iu circulation to tlie effect that tlie men whose arrests are being considered, if they have not already been decided upon, are Israel W. So much Interest has been aroused among the taxpayers of the county Beat in the mass meeting arranged by the Wilkesbarre Board of Trade for this evening, to oxpresa indignation over the course of the county commissioners in the court house matter, that it lias been found desirable to secure a larger hall than the council chamber. Harrisburg, June 17.—Who will succeed the Hon.
