The drifting snow had partially bidden her from view. The woman was carried to a nearby house, where vigorous treatment partially restored her to consciousness. The interest in the grand jury now centers around the nature of the charges which Senator Mitchell and Congressman Herman say have been preferred against them. British Steamer Still Aground. morning m MAGNET Now York, Dec. 27. — The British steamship Drutnelzler, which went ashore on the point of l'ire island bar, two miles west of the Fire island lighthouse, Sunday night in a blinding snowstorm, is still hard aground. The vessel left New York Sunday, bound for Swansea and Havre, and when she struck was many miles out of her course. Wreckers were sent to her assistance from this city, but their efforts to pull her off the bar have so far proved unavailing. "In the autumn of this year there was a meeting in St. Petersburg of several zemstvos of the various governments, who expressed a series of desires concerning what were, in their opinion, indispensable reforms in the interior government of the empire. Following a trivial quarrel with his wife, Conrad Fredericks hanged himself In his home in East Forty-eighth street. The man took offense at a remark of his wife after he had given the presents on a Christmas tree to his three children and left the room. A few hours later a neighbor found Fredericks' body hanging over a balustrade in an upper hall. The drifting snow had partially bidden her from view. The woman was carried to a nearby house, where vigorous treatment partially restored her to consciousness. She mumbled incoherently for a moment and then lapsed Into insensibility. An ambulance was summoned, but tligirl died before reaching the hospital. She was neatly dressed, and her refined features told an eloquent story of privations and hardship. British Steamer Still Aground. morning m MAGNET Now York, Dec. 27. — The British steamship Drutnelzler, which went ashore on the point of l'ire island bar, two miles west of the Fire island lighthouse, Sunday night in a blinding snowstorm, is still hard aground. The vessel left New York Sunday, bound for Swansea and Havre, and when she struck was many miles out of her course. Wreckers were sent to her assistance from this city, but their efforts to pull her off the bar have so far proved unavailing. "In the autumn of this year there was a meeting in St. Petersburg of several zemstvos of the various governments, who expressed a series of desires concerning what were, in their opinion, indispensable reforms in the interior government of the empire. Following a trivial quarrel with his wife, Conrad Fredericks hanged himself In his home in East Forty-eighth street. The man took offense at a remark of his wife after he had given the presents on a Christmas tree to his three children and left the room. A few hours later a neighbor found Fredericks' body hanging over a balustrade in an upper hall.
