Foreman Thomas Hammer, of the jury, informed Justice Davis that the evidence had been carefully weighed, but some mem'oers of the jury stood out against all argument and reason. The jury came into the court room worn and weary and took seats. Mise Patterson was then brought into the room. Justice Davis asked the jury if a decision had been 'reached and the foreman replied that the jury had been unable to agree on a verdict. The justice said he would give the jury any instructions they wistoedl but the foreman said that no instructions had been asked for by any of the members. The jury came into the court room worn and weary and took seats. Mise Patterson was then brought into the room. Justice Davis asked the jury if a decision had been 'reached and the foreman replied that the jury had been unable to agree on a verdict. The justice said he would give the jury any instructions they wistoedl but the foreman said that no instructions had been asked for by any of the members.
