When the war ministry annonnced the Intention of the czar to send a second army to Manchuria It was stated that General Grippenberg as commander of the second nnd General Kuropatkin commander of the first would act Independently and have equal rank. The vessel reached au altitude of almost a mile, but the qne man who was skipper and craw could be seen distinctly even at that height. He still was visible when ho crossed to the Illinois bank and steered the ship for Gahokla. There he turned a crank or wheel and pulled a lever, lu what seemed the fraction of a second the Arrow began to descend. She settled steadily and smoothly until within ten feet of the ground. Then Knabenslme tossed his grapple overboard, aud one of the stout hooks clutched a large tree. The airship sank slowly to the surface, resting easily on Its framework, and in a trice Knabenshue was out and had secured his craft from injury by the wind. He hurried to a telephone to tell Mr. Baldwin the break in the motor was the only harm the ship had received in her voyage. PEOPLE S STORE, If the important allegation In the note sent to Russia is established-- Namely, that the squadron actually changed formation before opening lire —it would seem to tlx the responsibility upon Rojestven«ky, whoever the author of the offense may be. it is regarded as certain that Great Britain will'demand, among other things, his punishment. It is also considered certain that failure to promptly comply with the demands will be immediately followed by Ambassador Hardlnge's recall. -~ ALWAYS THE CHEAPEST. 15 South Main Street, Plttston. It has been learned that the Russian embassy in London received an urgent telegram from St. Petersburg on Sunday, several hours before the news of the North Sea tragedy reached Hull. This message resulted in the recall of Count Benckendorff, the Russian ambassador, who rushed to London and who was en route to the capital before the news of the firing on the British fishing boats was known In London. This fact has led to the suspicion that Russia has heard more than she will admit and that she is purposely keeping Admiral Rodjcstrvensky out of reach. Grocery Pricc List. f7\rury's prices.
