The operators take the decision of the board to fortify their present action. Since the decision was rendered no sliding scale increase was reported until tut close of the month of June, when Commissioner C. F. Neill computed one per cent. Robert Cranneli Minor, prominent in America and Europe as a landscape painter and artist, is dead at Ills summer home in Waterford after a brief illness, aged sixty-eight. He was born in New York city, and in 1897 lie was elected a member of the National academy.
