HART 1882. 1 FALL OF On Monday morning a bombardment of I'ort Arthur was made from behind a small cape to the west of Linothleshati promontory, and thruc battleships, with two cruisers, took part in it for nearly two hours. The Russian gnnllrc was not drawn, and it is not known what the purpose of the Japanese admiral was. More than twenty transports, some with guns, have landed at the head of Society bay since Saturday night, and it seems eertali now that the real operations of the war for at least two weeks to come are to be conilned to the southern end of the Llautoug peninsula.
