New York, Oct. 17.—While John Alexander Dowie, "Restorer of his people," etc., was' snugly sleeping In a comfortable bed at the Plaza hotel this morning, 3,500 of his followers knelt on the board floor of Madison Square Garden and ofTered up prayer and praise. The Zion band tooted a tune also. Then the host arose and, standing in front of the tables, partook of breakfast, which consisted of cold beef, cheese, white bread and cofTee. The menu from which the Prophet chose his morning meal at the hotel could not be learned. After the host had finished their meal, they waited around until the "Restorer" came and set them to work. Dowie will take no part in the services until tomorrow morning. Then he will send his people broadcast throughout "modern Sodom" to purify it. The services tomorrow will begin with prayer and praise, followed with an address by Dowie, which will be the opening discourse of his series on "The Eleven Commandments." The text for the day will be "The Supremacy of God." Trenton, N. J., Oct. 17.—Two work trains on the Belvidere division of the Pennsylvania railroad were wrecked In a rear end collision during a dense fog this morning. It is dlfilcult to secure definite information concerning the wreck, but the most reliable report says that 20 men were killed and 25 otherB Injured. The wreck occurred about one mile this side of Washington's crossing, about 6.35 o'clock. At that time the fog was so thick that the engineer could not see for a distance of 100 feet ahead of him, with the result that he ran his train at full speed Into the rear end of another work train that had come to a stop on the main track for some reason that has not yet developed. All of those killed were sitting in a construction car, attached to the rear of the work train. The victims were all Italians and negroes. The bodies were horribly man-, gled and presented a fearful sight as they were placed on a train to be taken to this city. Heads were severed from some of the bodies, arms and legs were c\it off and bodies cut in two. The injured were also badly cut up. As soon as the news reached Trenton, a relief train, with doctors, was dispatched to the scene. Most of the injured were taken to St. Francis hospital, In this city. The services tomorrow will begin with prayer and praise, followed with an address by Dowie, which will be the opening discourse of his series on "The Eleven Commandments." J., Oct.
