S. Government stamps. Do not be misled by any printed list containing the names of your old RED STAR STAMP friends. They sell you the best goods and will not give cheap stamps—they'll continue giving the valuable RED STAR STAMPS with all purchases in the future as in the past. A few real merchants did sign for cheap stamps, but before any were issued they saw the error of their way and decided not to give stamps which can only give dissatisfaction to stamp collectors. Ask for RED STAR STAMPS with all purchases—they get Premiums of real merit—refuse all others. We ask all to come in and Shipments Have Been Made From Chi cago to Replace Lost Cars. Kansas City, June 4.—The Missouri and Kansas rivers arc fulling rapidly. Militiamen and police still guard all approaches to the flooded district, and soldiers halt pedestrians in the residence streets late at night. Seven street car lines are in operation. The city waterworks is in operation. Railroads are still giving Incomplete service, but are repairlug washouts. The reports of heavy loss aI life in Kansas City, Ivan., are not true, and the stories of bodies lying in the drift there are unfounded. The loss of property has not been overestimated, however. Kansas avenue, the principal thoroughfare of Aruiourdale, Is choked twenty feet deep with debris. The clearing away of the mud and ruins will be a work of months. In the west bottoms of Kansas City the wuters of the Kansas river are rushing through the streets like mountain torrents. 42 North mala Street, Lawn Seed, per lb... Timothy Seed, per bu 18 .... 2.16 The beef situation in this city has been brightened considerably by the news that a supply of beef will be received the latter end of the week. Inquiries were made of W. M. WeBcott. local manager of the S. & S. Beef Co., as to the situation, to which he replied that he had received a message this morning over the long distance telephone from the main offices of the company in New York, which stated that a carload of beef would be received in this city either Friday night or Saturday morning. The S. & S. Co. lost eight carloads in the western storms, one of these cars being billed for Plttston, one for Scranton and the others for various points. When the loss of these was ascertained a new car was shipped from Chicago, where the company has a plant. This plant Itself could prepare enough meat to supply all the company's demands, but the difficulty lies in getting the cattle from the west. However, it ig thought that enough meat is on hand to supply the demand until means of transportation from the west are resumed. An estimate of $5,000,- 000 Is the lowest made for the damage done to crops. It Is believed by niuny that the corn affected will be a total loss, as it will be impossible to replant It owing to the lateness of the season and the condition of the ground. The wheat crop has been damaged to the extent of 5,000,000 to 8,000,000 bushels already, with rust to reckon with when the sun shines. Kansas City, June 4.—The Missouri and Kansas rivers arc fulling rapidly.
