Rain hampered attendance at a moving ceremony in Way Park, Edgeworth, at noon On Saturday. The service, sponsored by the Quaker Valley Police Association, was the first observance by the group of National Police Week, which began May 13. Officers from local police departments took part and heard a message from Lt. Floyd M. Nevl- ing, head of general investigations for Allegheny County. At the end of the ceremony, as police and the audience saluted the flag, the flashing lights were turned on in all police vehicles in memory of law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
