You’re never too old to tell Santa what you want for Christmas as illustrated above by Special Duty Officer Harold Parker of Sewickley. Officer Parker crawled right up on Santa’s knee as he sat, in his little house oh Wolcott Park and .gave his Christmas list'. Santa will make his final appearance in Sewickley Village on Saturday, Dec. 22. After resting in his little housefrom 11 until 2 p.m., when he will receive little visitors, he will visit the residents at Valley Care Nursing Home. The Herald’s long-range forecast predicts better than average weather for Dec. 25, and even some snow to aid old Santa on his way. No matter the weather, the fact remains there are only five more shopping days left until Christmas. For the procrastinators in life, or the workaholic, most of the village stores will remain open until 8 p.m. the rest of this week, and untU 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Evening hours is a first for Sewickley village, so you can vote by getting on down to the village for night shopping if you like the idea. Santa Claus will make his final ap- pearance in Sewickley Village on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 11 to 2 in Wolcott Park. The State Liquor Stores will be closed up tighter than a drum after 6 p.m. on both Christmas and New Year’s Eve, so don’t say we didn’t warn you. If you are planning tO do late mailing, the U.S. Post Office will provide normal delivery and window services on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, On Christmas and New Year’s Day, however, there will be no regular delivery, .collection or window service provided. Special Delivery and Express Mail deliveries will be made, PAT will put its Sunday schedule into effect on both holidays, so consult your timetable. The Sewickley Public Library will be closed Dec, 24 and Dec. 25, but will be open on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, Until 5. A quick turn to Page 16A of this, week’s Herald will find the listings of all the church services in the Sewickley Valley, The Herald will come out early the next two weeks, so deadlines have been advanced. It’s still not too late to get an article or an announcement in the next Herald issue by bringing it to the office by Thursday noon latest. Having guests and want to show them a treat? Sewickley has one of the best luminaria displays in Allegheny County. Candles are lighted as soon as it gets dark. Remember, drive carefully and watch out for reindeer. Have a Merry, Mer ' ii,\. ■
