The Sewickley Valley Business Men's Association on a Firm Footing GRATIFYING RESULTS ATTAINED On Tuesday evening the Sewickley Valley Business Men's Association convened in regular session. There were about twenty-five members present and considerable business was transacted. As usual there were several new members taken into the organization and other applications are pending. One of the important features of this meeting was the instructing of the trustees to procure a charter, as without this document the asso ciation could not transact certain business which it is desirous of taking up in the near future. Gratifying results have been attained thus far, and the future of this body of business men is quite encouraging. There were several committee reports presented, but no action will be taken until the charter is procured, then a concerted effort will be made to eradicate several existing evils that are at present unfair to our local merchants and a detriment to the business interests of the Valley. In justice to the business community it should be fully understood that the Sewickley Valley Business Men's Association is not merely a collection agency to any greater extent than that an effort will be made to regulate the credit system in this community, which has been abused to a considerable extent. . Both are members of the Shields Presbyterian church, where Mr. Seaman has been an elder for a great number of years, and Sunday school superintendent for over 22 years. There are five children living, S. A. Seaman, Leetsdale; T. J. Seaman, Leetsdale; George M. Seaman, Allegheny; Mrs. Lawrence Davis, Leetsdale, and Mrs. John A. Moore, Ben Avon. Another gift of which they are especially proud was presented them by their children, who handsomely fitted up a new, cozy, comfortable bed room for their present. Mr. Seaman has three pictures of which he is very proud; the first is when they-were first married; the second when they were married 25 years and the third when they were married 50 years; the latter one being the one we publish in this issue.
