ti Fear no man, and do justice to all men." Vol. IV SEWICKLEY, PA.3 SATURDAY, JULY 6, 1907 No. 45 Dr. Crissman President of Beaver College. Committees Agree on Sewickley Pastor to be New Head of the College. The Rev. Dr. George D. Grissman, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this place, was the recipient of congratulations the early part of the week when it became known that he had been selected as the new president of Beaver college. This puts an end to the question that has caused much discussion since the unexpected resignation of the Rev. Dr. Arthur Staples a few months ago. At that time, in accordance with .an agreement with the Pittsburgh conference, a committee was appointed by the board of trustees of Beaver college to report their choice to a committee of three, which had the power of veto. The trustees committee, composed of W. S. Moore, R. W. Darragh and A. R. Rayner, met the conference committee, composed of the Rev. J. W. Miles, the Rev. Dr. E. J. Knox and the Rev. J. W. Hoffman, in the Hotel Anderson, Pittsburg, and the announcement of the former committee that it had decided on Dr. Grissman was approved. The action of the two committees has been ratified by the Trustees of the Gollege, and Dr. Grissman has formally accepted the position. Dr. Grissman is a native of Bedford county, and was educated at Dickinson Gollege and at normal and special schools devoted to the training of teachers, and after a post graduate course of three years received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Allegheny College. Photo by Diehl.] REV. GEORGE D. GRISSMAN, Ph. D. During his pastorate in Sewickley, a new parsonage has been erected and extended improvements made to the chapel of the ohurch property. One hundred and forty-five members have been added to the church, which is now in a very flourishing condition. Dr. Crissman's relations to his congre gation have been* most pleasant, and his going away is not less regretted by him than them. Presiding Elder T. N. Boyle has appointed Rev.
