At quarter before seven Easter Sunday morning the traditional outdoor service to celebrate the resurrection will be hold this year on the YAICA grounds instead of at the Watson Home. Tern Sokol will play two trumpet solos and the address will bo given by ¡Rev. James G. Williams. This is especially a young people’s service and it is hoped that the first peace-time Easter will bring a large crowd of worshippers to the ‘Y’ field beside the Annex. All citizens of the Valley, both young and old, aTO cordially invited to share in this beautiful service of the Easter morn. In case of rain the service will be in the Annex. To Sing “The Crucifixion” - Saint Stephen’s 'Choir will sing John Stainer’s “The Crucifixion,” on Good Friday evening at 8 o’clock, under the direction of Julian Williams, organist and choirmaster. Soloists will be ¡Hamilton ¡Beck, tenor, and Joseph Stritmater, baritone. The public is invited to this musical service- GOOD FRIDAY Sewickley Valley Three-Hour Services Nine Sewickley Valley churches will take part in a Community Three-Hour Good Friday Service, 12:00 to 3:00 p. m., which is to bo held in the Sewiek-ley Methodist Church. Seven ministers representing these churches will speak on “T.he Seven Last Words of the ¡Cross.” The churches cooperating in this service are: The Leetsdalo United Presbyterian and the St. Matthew’s Lutheran churches, the Shields Presbyterian Church, and the following Sewickley churches: United Presbyterian, United Brethren, Baptist, St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran, Presbyterian and Methodist. Everyone is invited. There will be seven twenty-five minute periods and worshipers may come and go when they desire. The church doors will be closed except at the singing of the Hymn in each period. Worshipers will leave and enter during the singing. The following churches have their own services Good Friday afternoon: St. Matthew’s A. M. E. Zion Church, 1:30 to 3:00 p. m.; St. James Roman Catholic Church, 12:00 N. to 3:00 p. m.; St, Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 12:00 N. to 3:00 p. m. The Ministerium wishes to stress attendance at the Good Friday services. There is a service for every Christian in the Sewickley Valley. Stores Close on Good Friday ■Many local stores and business places will be closed from 1:00 to 3:00 tomorrow, Good Friday, so that owners and employees may attend one of the three-hour services to bo lield in Sewickley churches, as announced with the recommendation of the Retail Section of the Sewickley Valley Board of Trade. Good Friday Breakfast at Seven. On Friday morning in the YMGA. Library at seven o’clock, the annual Good Friday Breakfast for leaders and group ¡officers of the Association will be held. Rev. C. A. Tracey of the Methodist Church will lead the devotional hour and the service will close promptly at eight so that men may catch the morning trains.
