D. Tregor and Hugh A. MeMaster, who will operate them' under the name of Wessenauer Flower Shops, Ine. Mr. Tregor, wlio Tsears the reputation of 'being one of tho best floral designers in the Pittsburgh district, has (been with tlie Zieger Company, prominent East End florists, for the past twenty-two years, He .started as an errand boy and Worked his way up to the position, of designer and social man for the company. Ho expects to iocatti his homo in Sewickley. Mr. MeMaster, who lives at 523 Grimes 'Street, is well known hero as ho has been a resident hore all his lifo. Ho is a certified accountant and has been working in the Sowickley shop for seven months, so he is well qualified for his new responsibilities. Miss Helen Benney will continue with the organization in her present capacity. The new company expects to have a moro extensive and unusual display of flowers, table decorations and corsages, than any ever before displayed in Sewickley. Changes will 'be made in tho store building and the patrons will be assured of getting tlie same flowers of the highest quality obtainable. Mr. Wessenauer will remain in Sewickley and probably engage in another line of 'business, as he is too oncrgetie and amlbitioiis to remain idle for long. Ho started selling flowers in 1914, renting a window in Myers and Myers Grocery store on Beaver Street. Then ho moved to larger quarters in tho building now occupied by Nibert's barber shop and in 1917 removed to his conservatory on Broad Street. He is a florist by nature, making the study of flowers and their care his life Work. In his early years he traveled extensively in Europe, where he received his education in ibotany, forestry, landscape gardening and floriculture. He traveled mostly Oil foot, learning first hand information about their flora. Mr. Wessenauer was sent to assist in the planting of the gardens surrounding tho palace of the Saltan of Morocco while in the employ of Kew Botanical Gardens, London. He was sent to America iii 1903 as oho of the managers of tho British Exhibit at the World's Fair in 'St, Louis. He traveled over tlio United States and South America, coining to Sewickley Heights in 1905 to plan the gardens for tlio HusSey Farm and he remained in charge of that place until he ibegan his business career, Mr, WcssCnauor is ono of Sowiekley's most progressive business men. Always *7 in favor of any plan for bettering the town, he organized and was first president of the Sewiekley Horticultural Society; helped organize the Peoples Bank and served two years as president and two as vice president of the Sewickley Board of Trade. He was president of the Retail Florists Association of tho Pittsburgh District for six years, meanwhile building up his business until he had the loading floral business in Western Pennsylvania. He delivers flowers from Pittsburgh to Eochester and to insure his patrons getting the best flowers obtainable, he bought stock in leading wholesale houses. Mr. Wessenauer wishes to thank the public for tlieir patronage; he says that lie has always enjoyed his trade here and assures his friends that in spite of his retirement, the business will go on growing and supplying all their floral wants.
