Pupils of the Osborno Public School, in beautiful costumes, many of which woro mado by the children themselves, with oven the socond and third grado pupils helping, presented an oporetta in two acts last Friday evening in tho school building, Tho program began with tho flowors, nasturtiums, Jimmy Leonard and Dick Groig; poppies, Chapin Heumann and Glenn Pciflior; astors, Betty Wynn and Billy Wynn; pansies, Konnoth Crampton and George Schusslor* daisies, Marjorie Over and Mariotto Leonard; primrosos, Jano Mcintosh and Margy Bullitt- violets, Betty Ann Robinson and Peggy Bake- well, and pinks, Mario Hammer and Evolyn Jones, singing, "Blossoms Pair," and dancing, bowing to tho audionco in pairs. Butterflies, played by Betty Ann Harrison, Nancy AVatson, Phyllis Macqueen, Patsy Molmark, Anno Davis and FiToan McPherson, flow about tlio swaying flowers-, singing. Tho child, Fred- oriclca Mcintosh, cntorod after tho buttorflies had flown awny, singing, "Lovo Song to tho Flowers." She caressed each flower as sho mentioned it in tho song, but as soon as sho loft tho flowors began to complain of hor treatment, as she did not water them often onough nor hoo the woods. Botty Balfour, tho fairy queen, accompanied by her attendants, .Edith Trapp, Peggy Jadden, Dorothy Dann, Nancy Over and Sally Ivory, entered with tho queen singing the vorso of "Queen of Fairies." Sho is told of tho troubles of the flowers and summoned her fairies, Peggy Groulieh, Cherry Bakewell, Sara Fundis, Mhxinc Doty, Mary A. Morrill, Helen Bullitt, Mildred Borger and Norma Gardner, who sang "Rain Chorus" with accompanying pitty-pat of raindrops which refreshed tho flowors. Margery Over and Chapin Heumann .sang, "Mr. Poppy's Proposal," with tlio flowers joining in tho chorus and iu a danee, then Billy aud Botty Wynn, twins, sang the Pansy and Aster song. Virginia Pflugh and Harriot Pflugh, sunbeams, entered to tho singing of "Pretty Golden Sunbeams" and carried off the flowers to Fairyland, singing as they went. Misisng her flowers, tho littlo child wopt as tho first act ended. Margery Over performed a graceful ballot dance between tho acts and gavo a snappy tap danco to close tho program. Tho fairies and tho brownies, who wero played by Tom Barton, Bobby Hamilton, Charlos Hamilton, Dan Davis, Dick Berg, Buddy Berg, John Fetter and Alex Dann, sang and danced to open tho seeond act. Sally Ivory sang "A Secret" and the chorus of fairies just whispered because of the brownies. Peggy Jadden and Dick Berg sang "Naughty Brownie" mid then tho queen entered, telling both brownies and fairies that the girl must be punished, In tho round-up of all small gardeners, the overall boys, Olml Schuette, Stephen Davis, Billy Borger, Ned Klingelhofer, Leland Fisher, Tommy Greulieli, Bernard MeFee and Ronald Macqueen and the sunbonnet babes, Betty Ann Harrison, Nancy Watson, Phyllis Macqueen, Patsy Molmark, Anno Davis and Jean McPherson, wero brought in by tho fairies, but established their innoconco by producing w.atoring cans and hoes. Tho gardeners sang "How to mako your Garden grow," with Patsy Molmark singing tho solo, and thoy later repeated the song for tho benefit of Frcdcricka Mcintosh, who wanted her flowers back, After sho had boon convinced of tho child's sincerity, tho queen brought back the flowers, who told of their experiences in the song, "Air Mysteries," The ontiro east joined in singing "Mid-Summer's Day" as tho finalo, The operetta was well directed by Mrs. Georgena Hathaway, music director, and was much enjoyed by a large audience. On Monday the children tlonncd thoir costumes and proceeded to tho homo of Mrs. J. D. Berg, whero tho ahove picture was taken by A, H.
