The annual campaign for funds with which to carry on the valuable community work of tlie Sewickley Y. M. C, A. begins today, the campaign being scheduled to extend from April 7th to 14th. The campaign has been organized so that practically every one will have the opportunity of subscribing to this worthy cause. There will be no house-to-house canvass, but about 150 men and women have volunteered, to take part, and one or more of them will manage to see almost every person in the local territory. M. II. Bowman, Jr., is acting as general chairman of the campaign, and an executive committee has been appointed, consisting of Daniel E. Davis, Alexander J. Barron, Edward M. Borger, M, II. Bowman, Jr., F. S. Merrill, Bayard H. Christy, Frank A. Nash and Lowell W, Nicols. Six general groups have been enlisted, under the following leaders and captains, although additional names will probably have been added to those given here before this appears in print, Division A—Leader, Calvin Wells; captains, Hanson Thomas, William A. Galbraith, Marshall Hamilton and William Booth. Division B—John, N. Critehlow, leader; team captains, Charles H. Bashaar, Kay Gamier, R. T. Van Pelt, and Strickland Kneass. Division C—Stanley Quay, leader; captains, E. M. Borger, Richard Shields, and, heading the Hi-Y Chib. William Bradley. Division D—Mrs. George C. Hutchinson, leader; captains, Mrs. Denton Borger, airs. William Bradford, Mrs. J. S. Crutchfield, Mrs. Paul Griffiths and Mrs. Daniel E. Davis. Division E—Mrs. John M. Tate, Jr., leader; captains, Mrs. J. K. Webster*, Mrs. Charles L. Hamilton, Mrs. George McCracken, Mrs. Lawrence Woods, Jr., and Mrs. J. R. Dunsford. Division F—The Kiwanis Club members, organized without captains, but under the direction of J. D. C. Miller as leader. Great economies have been put into effect at the Y. M. C. A. in the last three years, so that it is operating efficiently on a reduced budget and maintaining a, fairly full and satisfactory program of activities; only through the willing cooperation, enthusiasm and hard work of every one connected with the institution has this been possible. So the goal set as the objective of the present drive is only $11,100, instead of the $18,000 requested a year or two ago. Every thoughtful citizen must realize that the work is essential to the community, and no doubt will be glad to help. . .« ■ ■ ■ • ■ f ,V| "l f .■ h t! A" i'i
