In order to meet the present situation of limited incomes and vastly increased demands, each agency has cut its expenses to the bone, working now on a greatly reduced budget, having accepted an average cut in salaries of twenty per cent. Mr. Maxwell, Executive Secretary of the Welfare Fund, says, "In this time of confusion the value of Social Agencies has 'not been destroyed;" and in order to preserve their services the Fund has set the budget at Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars. On Sunday, November 13th, our usual House-to-I-Iousc Canvass will be made under the Chairman, Mrs, Margaret Morgan, and a large number of workers. See announcement on the back page.
