SEWICKLEY, PA., FRIDAY, MAY 13, 1932 Way ~®a?—"Kedttb 1>a? -I ",'!> The Child Health Association supports Sehool Nurses in Sewiekley, Edgeworth, Leetsdale and other boroughs, and one whoso territory covers Osborne, Haysville, Glenfleld and tho townships back from the river, making frequent visits, checking up on the children's health and helping in their health education. All tho public schools celebrate "Health Day" during May Day week; tho pictures above show the "Health Parade" and the Maypole dance which wero part "of the program at tho Neely School, Franklin Township, held on Wednesday, May 4th, and, in the center, a scone from tho outdoor Health Play given at tho Martin School, Aleppo Township, on Monday, May 2nd. I» ,;' ■■■■iin)»))))i) THE ANNUAL CHILD HEALTH ASSOCIATION PARTY Tomorrow (Saturday) evening at the Edgeworth Club the annual "party" of the Child Health Association will take place, in the form of a danco with many entertainment features and amusements for all. Elaborate preparations havo boon mado to decorate and light tho club rooms so that the danco will bo extraordinarily beautiful. Thero will also bo a floor show, in which a number of special features will bo soon; such as tap dancing by a group of Sowickley girls, with somo solo dancing by Mr. Carl Heinrich, who has given his services to rehearsing them, and by Miss Virginia Millei", his assistant. Nivolla's orchestra will furnish tho music. There will bo various sido attractions also, including bridgo for thoso who do not caro to danco, and ontortainnient for all is assured. This party is tho Association's means of fluancing its valuable bencfleial activities), such as supporting Health Nurses who work among tho children of tho several public schools in the district, tho distribution of milk and cocoa to children who need it, as well as tho Sowickley Hospital Clinic and other forms of health improvement endeavor. The Sewickley Valley Hospital clinic began to operate on March 10th, 193.1. Its opening was caused by tlio repeated complaints of the Public Health nurses of this district, over tho difficulty involved in taking their patients to tho hospitals in Pittsburgh. It was through the efforts of the Child Health Associa- fion of Sewickley that tho present free dispensary was made possible. The cooperation it met on the part, of the board as well as the medical and nursing stall' of the hospital was nothing .short of magnificent. Threo times a weok tho doctors and nursos assisted by volunteer members of the Child Health Association give their services to these clinic .uses, which havo grown rapidly in tho past year. Twenty-live babies owe their healthy start in lifo to tho froo medical care given them aud their mothers. Miss Effio Coller, in charge of tho clinic has many thrilling talcs to tell of the worth-whilo work boing done. The Child Health Association feels that this is one of the biggest things that it must carry on in the yoars to come, but in order to do this as well as the support of a public health nurso and all tho other demands, put upon tho organization during tho present crisis, moro money must be raised. The only method for making money whieh tho Child Health Association has, is tho annual spring entertainment, to bo held in tho Edgeworth Club tomorrow ovening.
