For this game, the American Bridge Company team of Amhridge, which in the old days gave Sewickley many a tough hattie and won a high reputation against other strong base- hall aggregations, is to play a Sewickley team which will include as many as possible of our own former stars, as well as some of the present fast-going YMCA team. And the game will he honored hy the presence of at least half a dozen of this year's Pittsburgh National League players — just which ones we're not sure; they will prohahly do a little exhibition work on the field, and perhaps act as ofiicials at the game. A small admission charge is to he made, the Board of Trade, Kiwanis Club and Boy Scouts cooperating in seeing that everybody gets a chance to buy a ticket, and it is hoped to realize a nice sum to afford additional work or assistance to the Sewickley district's unfortunate or unemployed. After all, something of the sort really has to be done; and the idea of this old-timers' game has proved instantly popular wherever it has been mentioned. It should be full of interest and fun for all. A representative committee is in charge of the affair, with Reynolds D. Ritchey as chairman, Benjamin Handy, W. B. Mullan, Frank Hegner, John 0. Hiteshew, J. C. Doughty and Francis C. Foote. Others will probably be added. The Boy Scouts have volun teered to distribute circulars, and the Cochran Hose Company will assist in policing the field and help in other ways. The Kiwanis and Board of Trade members are cooperating in issuing a souvenir score card, and in many ways helping the enterprise along. As President Roosevelt says, there is wonderful power in a united effort; and it looks as though the baseball game will represent a movement truly enlisting the cooperation of the whole community. And it certainly will be too good for anyone to miss! Next Wednesday twilight at the "Y" Field.
