SEWICKLEY, PA., FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 1934 Price 5 Cents ..iff, i V , . * "l .Autumn (Toloring HALLOWE'EN Hero are tho arrangements for Sowickloy 's Hallowe'en celebration, noxi Wednesday night; here are tho orders, direct from Chief Marshal "Jimmy" Gray. Hoar ye all; boys and girls, mon and maidens fair — everybody young enough to forget politics and business for ono jolly evening, and have a good time togothor! Tho parade will form at the Methodist Church corner, as in former years. School children will assomblo in tho grado school yard boforohand. Floats and trucks will form on Chestnut and Thorn Streets, headed westward toward Broad; decorated autos and trucks on lower Broad. Tho parado will bo headed by Mr. Gray and his start of aides. Then will come a Pittsburgh drum and flfo corps Fall foliage at its finest on the newly paved Little Sewickley Creek Road <- - .mil)))))))) which will furnish music for tho. evening. J. I.. Young is tho director. Next will como tho uniformed children, parading in capes furnished by Mr. Gray; and then all the other maskers. And then the floats. Tho parade will move at 8:15 o'clock, passing up Broad Streot, along Beaver to Chestnut, countermarching and proceeding westward along Boavor, down Walnut, and along Thorn to Broad; thonce up Broad Streot, repeating same route as before. A third timo up Broad Street to Centennial and dismiss. Tho judges stand will be on Broad Street near Beavor. The following floats will bo in lino! First, tho King and Quoon of the Carnival; thon Santa Clans; tho Old Mill; Cinderella; the high school glee clubs; "Tho Hunters' Breakfast;" the Milk Maids; tho Liberty Boll; tho Big Bad Wolf; Old Mother Hubbard and her children. Then will follow tho decorated trucks and automobiles. After the parade, tho entertainment on the Broad Street stand will begin. First a pio-oating contest; then a series of singing and dancing acts, and dancing in tho street. Former Burgess 0. Bichardson has given a silver cup to be awarded the best dancer. Sandy McGregor Scotch comedian, who will bo "Mother Hubbard" in tho parade, will give some of his inimitable fun. The prizes for the paradcrs will be awarded from the stand near tho close of tho program there. A different system is to bo used this year, the children having numbered tickets, instead of the largo numbers oil their backs. Lost feature will be n series of pictures, with plonty of fun find comedy, which will bo projected on a screen on Broad Stroet. Altogether, it will 1)0 ono of tho boat Hallowe'ens we've had in Sowickley. Mr. Gray guarantees this—what more do you want! Mr. Gray's cooperating committees aro ns follows: Stands: P. S. Doughty and John C. Hiteshew. Streot committee: Chief of Police Eoy F. Barclay, and aides; Fire Chief J'. C. Doughty and his firemen—they'll help got the children in line, too. Finance committee: J. S. Gray, J. C. Hiteshew, W. J. Fitzgerald, W. F. Holt- haus, John Houston, Margaret Greenhouse, Buth Neely and Vernon Greenhouse. Light committee: George Tissue, J. C. Hiteshow. Judges: J. 0. Chaplin, chairman; A. H. Diehl, W. G. Davis, D. E. Nevin, O. S. Bichardson, B. D. Eitehey, B. E. Kuhn, D. L. Swoaringon, W. W. Cunningham, D. A. Challis, J. C. Hiteshow, L. H.
