The Walnut Automobile Company, 412 Walnut Streot, formerly the Anderson Tiro & Repair Company, which was founded 20 yoars ago by tho lato S. Y. Anderson, Jr., and operated by him until threo years ago when C. B. Clay assumed active management, was recently purchased by C. B. Clay of Glen Mitchell Eoad, and his-brother, H. E. Clay of Nicholas Place, Edgoworth, from Mrs. S. Y. Anderson, Jr. For many years tho organization held the Franklin dealership, and, several years ago, when thc mime was changed, added the Chevrolet dealership, installing a complete line of Chevrolet parts and equipment for servicing Chevrolet cars. Both dealerships will be retained by the new organization and thc personnel will remain thc same. Tho now owners of the Walnut Automobile Company havo been residents ot tho Valley for the past 20 years and attended the .Edgeworth public sehool and Sowickley high school. C. B. Clay was employed at the Highway .Service Company's service station at Chestnut and Beaver Streets for six years and (lieu was associated with the Anderson Tire Ss Eepair Company for eight years as retail salesman before taking over the active management. His brother, H. E. Clay, now a part' ner in the now organization, was employed iu the office of John Hiteshew, Sewickley's borough manager, for two years before becoming associated with thc Walnut Automobile Cnnpany, whore he has been employed as a s.ilosinan for Hie past two years. The company delivered approximately 75 new Clievrolet automobiles in 1034, and, with thc two new lines of Chevrolet cars for 103.*i, expect to double their sales this year. Word was recently received from the Franklin factory that the assets of the Franklin company had been purchased by former directors who hoped to have a new Franklin car for sale in the near future.
