Tho singing will begin this year at seven o'clock, lasting just half ail hour, and ending at seven-thirty. This wi!l avoid any interference with chureh servicos or other gatherings that even ing. And it will avoid any confusion due to the distribution of candy to tho children, for Santa Claus will make his appearance after the conclusion of the carol singing, not before it as in recent years. This will be the eighteenth Christmas Eve on which Paul N. Critehlow has lod the carol-singing at the Tree, arranging the chosen songs in such a way that they constitute a brief and very lovely re-tolling of the original Christmas story. He will be assisted by several other singers, with Miss Dorothy Nash playing the piano accompaniment, 'O Little Town of Bethlehem.' 'Away iu a Manger,' 'Hark! the Herald Angels Sing!'—tho carols aro all familial', and it's easy for all to join in with a will. In case of rain the singing will be in the Broad Street school corridor— where in former war days the Community Sings were held, But this change has only had to be made once in the past eighteen years. As stated, Santa Olaus will wait until after the carol-singing; the American Legion mon who are to assist him have arranged to oscort him to the platform at seven-thirty, and to have his boxes of candy close by. So that's the time for the children to stay around after the singing, and be ready, For tho eighteenth time, Borough Manager John 0, Hiteshew of Sewickley is in general charge of the arrange ments for the Christmas Eve singing, as well as of the placing and lighting of the Tree and the decorations along the Village streets, funds for which are being given by citizens of Sewickley and its adjoining boroughs in a fund sponsored by the Board of Trade. Cooperating in various ways are the police and other employees of Sewickley Borough, Board of Trade committee men, and members of American Legion Post No. 4, of which Martin Grogan is the Commander, and Past Commander David Eattledorfer chairman of tlie Ohristmas Eve committee. And many another willing volunteer has been helping in the preparation of Sewickley's Christmas tide, And so, a Merry Christmas to all!
