I * R THE COMMUNITY FUND House-To-House Canvass Sunday The housc-to-housc canvass of tho Sewiekley Unit of the Community Fund will ibegin on. Sunday afternoon, November 19th, and residents arc requested to remain at home until after tho solicitors' call, if it is convenient. Last Sunday, the sehool divisions and house- to-house majors and workers met at the Edgeworth Club, where they received materials and instructions. The junior special gifts, business and professional and commercial -teams reported on their contributions and will make thoir final report noxt Sunday at five o'clock. The final report o_ tlie house- to-house canvass will bo mado at a meeting at five o'clock in the club on Sunday, November 26th. This is the twelfth annual campaign of the Community Fund, which is an organisation of combined philanthropies formed by private citizens to fulfill unmet human needs, Tho agencies which it supports -vvero founded to provide nursing, medical and hospital care, to provide ri-creatioii for all ages, to give helpful advice to families made desolate by illness and poverty, to provide settlement facilities for children unci young people, to see that .children arc given proper care, to train the handicapped cripples and the blind. It is a rehabilitation sorvice, rather than relief. Last year, the Fund fell $225.00 short of its goal, with the result that the sorvices of many of tho agencies were seriously curtailed. "Give Phis" is the motto of the campaign this year, to make up for inadequate service last year. The Glen Osborno Division of tho house-to-house canvass will bo made by Mrs. Paul Fredericks, chairman, and her committee of Mrs. William H. Walter, Miss Paulino 0, Fredericks, Miss Grace- Crutehnold, Miss Frances Pinkney Gott, Mrs, Alden W, Poster, Mrs, AVilliam Fader, Jr., Mrs. Herbert H, Marks, Jr., Miss Betty Balfour and Miss Isabel Sehuotz, The Glen Osborne Junior Special Gifts will bo solicited by Daniel E. Davis, Major, John H. ICconcy, Prank W. Jarvis and William Douglas. THE WAYS OF PEACE On Wednesday evening, November -2„ at S:30 o'clock, Dr. Eufus Jones of Haverford will speak in the Presbyterian Church under the auspices of tho Sewickley Valley Committee on Education in the Ways of Peace. Numbered tickets are available without chargo through the various churches and every effort, will bo made to provide seats for all ticket-holders. Dr. Jones, who is well known to the Sowickley community, has announced his topic as a discussion of "Tho Present Crisis for Humanity.'' Internationally known both for his work as a member of tho American Friends' Sorvico Committee and his striking contributions to tho philosophy of our time, Dr. Jones brings (ho light of many years' experience to bear on tho world .situation of today. Hospital Welcomes Visitors Today The Valley Hospital is open to friends from two to five this afternoon. It is receiving gifts of fruits, vegetables or groceries this Annual Donation Day, DR.
