Tho midway is shaping up with plenty of fun and enthusiasm in pros- poet. Entries in the garden exhibits M'o also coining in fast, assuring an exceptional display. Tennis exports an.d liorsoshoo exports will givo exhibitions °f their skills. "First aid teams, competing in the filial for Zone 25, will demonstrate tlieir anothods find tho win ning team compato at Forbes Field. The festival begins at 2. o'clock m tho afternoon and ends at midnight, and is being sponsored jointly by the "RMCGA and tho Sowickloy Kiwanis Club for tho purpose of reducing tho debt of tho YjVIIOA. Victory gardeners will have an opportunity to show tho results of their summer's labors in the 26 classes of vegetables, four of fruit, 17 of flowers, 16 of canned goods and' vegetables, eight of baked goods, besides the classes for arrangement and vegetables of unusual shapes and sizes. There will also bo a display of noodle* work, and ft. special <4*H class of tomatoes. Entries close September 2nd for tlie exhibits. Awards will' bo granted for first, second and third places in tho exhibits, as well us a $1.0 prize for tho highest* numbor of points in the vegetable classes aiid $5 for the largest numbor of points in tho flower classes. The midway will have fortune tollers, games of skill aud amusomCiit, Sports events, pony rides, voice recording and other interesting booths. There will be sports programs for men, women and children with prizes for tlie winners. Booths will sell refreshments, fruits, vegetables, canned goods, baked goods, candy, cake, pop corn, knick-knacks and soft drinks. A- buffet supper will be served from 5 to 7 o'clock at a nominal chargo so that residents of tlie Arnlley may come early and stay late. Since the pleasure driving ban is lifted, residents may drive to tho Y if they consider .» essential, Tho Festival Queen, chosen ou a basis of tho number of admittance' ticket- sold in her behalf, will he crowiiod at 7:30 o'clock. 4 Persons wishing to buy canned goods will have to bring their ration books, as 8 points arc required for quarts and 4. for pints. Coronation of the Queen of the Festival Thie, program for the (Coronation cere! moiiy for tho Queen of tho Sewickloy Valley Harvest Festival on Labor Day, September 0th, will be preceded by a parade of .flag-bearers. The High School band, all WACs, WAVF's S-PAJJ's, and other- women's services available, the Girl Scouts, a decorated float carrying tho Queen, attendants, retinue and guard of honour, tho Boy Scouts and the Amorican Legion, will follow. The line of march is from the Public School in Sewickley up Broad Street to Boavor, along Beaver to Blackburn Avenue into the Festival enclosure at the "Y.» Tho procession will then form a 'V for victory, the Queen's float being the focal point and the High School Band will play the "Star Spangled Banner." Mr. D. B. Davis will crown tho Queen, present her with a $25.00 War Bond, and the ten and five dollar War Stamp* as prizes to the second and third contestants in the race. After the Coronation the Queen will award the Sweepstakes prizes to the winners of the Harvest Festival entries and the High School Baud will close the ceremonial with "God Bless America."
