Nowell, Jr. "Dick" Stites photographed the group. .—uumimi) -"■wnm STAGE DOOR CANTEEN Entertainment Featvires at Cot Club Benefit T.he program of the Sewickley Cot Club Stage Door Canteen will commence promptly at 8 p. m., tomorrow (Friday) night. The Commanding officers who assisted the committee have requested that the entertainment start with mililtary precision. Although ithe Cot Club is endeavoring to seat everyone military at tables and civilians around the ballroom, because of the largo attendance expected the Cot Club cannot guarantee that those who nrrivo late will be seated. In addition to tho 104tli Cavalry swing orchestra presented by Col. Stackpole, the music includes the St. Louis Coast Guard band made available through the courtesy of Ensign Jacob Soreuson, commander of 'the Sewickloy Coast Guard Post. Tho program consists of tho Southern- airs; Russell Swan, the great magician,' Joseph Houston, who sang at the Plaza Hotel in New York last winter; Martha Briney; John Buckmastor, tho great impersonator; Rainbow Jackson and Ed Shawn ossoy; Madeline Hood of KDKA (Aunt Jemima). ClifC Hall is coming from Meyer. Davis's orchestra; Bob the Cot Club hopes that inasmuch as everyone at the party is a host to some military man, each Sowickleyan will assume the responsibility of seeing that these men feel welcomed. They are hero with us today and. who knows where they will be next year? Ensign (B) K. M. Baker and Guardsmen show Miss Barbara McCague around their Depot. Carter, who sings at ithe Nixon Cafe; tho KDKA Quartotto and Helen Boll Rush. Last but not least, Ray and Naldi, who danced, at tho Biltmoro last year. All mombors of past Cot Club shows and 'tho Auxiliary of tho Cot Club arc requested to meet at the Edgeworth Club this (Thursday) evening at eight, whether they havo been notified or not, to plan tho hospitality. Many officers have accepted and soldiers and sailors from all parts of the county arc coming. Tho board of Young men of Sewiekley will be singing waiters at the Stage Door Canteen in the Edgeworth Club the night of October sixteenth, an event arranged to secure funds for the purchase of United States War Bonds in the name of tho Sewickley Valley Hospital. James E. Sincell and Oliver MeClin- tock are chairriifin' They have asked the following men to help: Frank C. Schroeder, Jr., Edward O'Neil II, Putnam Goldsbury, Henry Oliver, Jr., William H. Cies, Charles G. Zug, Jr., Frederick Norman, John Koenoy, Donald Davison, John Foster, John M. Trainer, David B. Oliver, Walter Floyd, Donald Booth, Robert Landon, Alexander M. Brooks, James MeCready, David Chaplin, Frank F. Brooks, Jr., Henry Carson, William Bachman, Oliver Campbell, Henry Devens, Edward Gibson, Frank W. Jar- vte, Jr., William Galbraith, William Penn Snyder III, Jesso Sammis>, Milton M'eissner and John Kellogg.
