Crews from Noralco Corp. began demolishing the building to make way for a new events center, which is scheduled to be finished in summer 2016. Some of the highlights of the planned facility will be an NCAA regulation-sized basketball court, enough seating for the entire student body and indoor batting and swing cages for baseball, softball and golf. McDonald's plan raises concerns about safety Fast-food giant revises blueprint, but still fails to meet Edgeworth regulations by TOM McGEE Some residents are concerned that a proposed McDonald's, if built, could bring a safety hazard to Edgeworth. A McDonald's restaurant is proposed near the intersection of Hazel Lane and Ohio River Boulevard. Council has until May 19 to hold a hearing on the plan. McDonald's Corp., the developer on the project, did not return calls seeking comment. The space currently is a parking lot for a nearby medical office building.
