Property tax rate might fall Proposed Sewickley 2016 budget includes .25-mill decrease by LARI5SA DUDKIEWICZ Sewickley residents could see their property taxes drop slightly if a proposed tax decrease for 2016 is approved. Sewickley Council earlier this month adopted a proposed $5.6 million budget that includes reducing property taxes from 6.5 mills to 6.25 mills. That means, a homeowner whose property is assessed at $178,900—the median property value, according to Allegheny County records — would pay about $1,118.
