Port Authority cuts will affect Sewickley area by Bobby Cherry STAFF WRITER Port Authority of Allegheny County’s proposed 35-percent service reduction will result in fewer trips to and from Pittsburgh for Sewickley-area riders. The plan calls for significant weekday and weekend service reductions for riders in communities from Bellevue to Ambridge. That news doesn’t sit well with Vicki Smith, of Bellevue, who uses mass transit to get to and from doctor appointments, grocery shopping and into downtown Pittsburgh. “I feel like we’ve already been through a lot of changes and cuts over the years, and it’s like, ‘Here we go again,”’ Smith said, while waiting in Sewickley for a bus to head home. “It’s going to cost more to ride the bus, and then who knows if I’ll even be able to Continued on page 2 uns JEWELRY : ! Port Authority of Allegheny County’s proposed 35-percent service reduction will result in fewer trips to and from Pittsburgh for Sewickley-area riders.
