Because the airport at Cancun was wiped out, they had no idea how they were going to get home. Gerry Yankello calls the couple’s honeymoon a “fiasco.” He criticizes the way he and other tourists were treated by Apple Tours and the management of a hotel, where they were quartered during Hurricane Gilbert. Debbie and Gerry had no idea that a storm was brewing when they boarded their flight for Cancun one. day after they walked down the aisle in St. James Church, Sewickley, on Sept. 10.
