Christmas music vyas broadcast over the board’s loudspeaker as the organist swayed bapk and fourth and the choir singers sang. Ferderbar ; Joseph E. ¡Ferderbar, of’Ohio River Boulevard, Leetsdalej administrative intern at Quaker Valley Joint Schools, completed requirements on Friday, December 26th, for the_doctor of educationdegree “ in educational administration, at the University of Pittsburgh. The topic of his dissertation was ‘‘Changes.in Selected Student Attitudes and Personality Measures and Their Relationship to Achievement, Intelligence, and Rate When Using Programmed Instruction.” Dr. Ferderbar is a lecturer on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh's school of education and is assistant coordinator of the graduate teaching internship program in secondary teaching. He formerly seized as a teaching associate and graduate student a&staht at Pitt. The son of Mr. and Kirs, Fred Ferderbar of Am-bridgo Avenue, Fair Oaks, he formerly taught in the Fair Oaks Elementary School and taught mathematics at' Quaker Valley Senior High School. A 1949 -Ambridge High School graduate, Dr, Ferderbar received his undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock State College in 1953 and served In the Army from 1953-55, He received his mast6r-of education degree from Pitt in 1957. He received a National Science Foundation scholarship to Case Institute of Technology in 1960. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Pihonsky, have a nihe-month-old son, Edward Joseph. His parents, Mr. and Mrs* Fred Ferdetbar, reside at 317 Ambrldge Avenue. Fair Oaks. ' 0* The driver of this trailer-truck escaped injury at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 26th, when it crashed thorough the guard rails of the: Ohio River Boulevard and tumbled down the embankment on to the west-bound passenger tracks of the Pennsylvania Railroad, opposite the Cool-Breeze Service Station in Haysville. -• Chief Paul Cernansky of Glenfield, who also takes care of police , work in Haysvilie, called Sewickley police headquarters and Chief Thomas Frendergast phoned the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pittsburgh and the Leetsdale tower to stop any trains from using that track. Tow trucks were palled, but it took until 6 o’clock that night to^get the big rig back on the boulevard. Meanwhile, Chief Wade Baltz of Osborne, -Squire Steve Balcerek of Haysville and Chief Cernansky directed traffic on the boulevard. Sergeant Bertil Neely of the Sewickley police force and other officers of various police forces in the neighborhood stopped and offered their services but the three local men were able to* handle the traffic satisfactorily. Since the boroughs on this side of die river have the' same radio frequency in their car radios, help can be summoned quickly, or officers needed elsewhere can be notified without^ delay* Santa visited the annual Christmas Party given by V.F.W. Post 5756, for the children .of members on Saturday, December ¿1st. The large crowd enjoyed the playing of. Injured In Boulevard Crash * - Robert Moulton, 415 Maple Lane, Edgeworth, sustained a laceration of the head on Tuesday morning, December . 24th, when bis car spun around* on the Ohio River Boulevard, Haysville, in front *o£ a pickup truck. The truck driver, William A. Veon of Columbiana, Ohio, was not injured in the resulting crash, police said, Mr, Moulton was taken to Sewickley Valley Hospital, where the cut on his head was treated and he was released, according to Chief Wade Baltz of Osborne, whd blamed the accident on slippery highway, .The pickup truck Was owned by the ' Columbiana Storage and Warehouse Company, Columbiana, Ohio, INJURED IN CRASH ON BRIDGE Anna Grace Perrier, of 1211 Maple Street, Coraopolis, Was taken to the hospital, treated and released at 10 p.m. on Fridav, December 27th, after her car bad been hit in the .rear by another car on Sewickley bridge.
