Albert Murrer attended the meeting tp inform the Board that he was ready to deed over the necessary property for the pump house arid the portion of the main on Camp Meeting that crosses his land, as soon as he saw the plans for the Accelerated Public Works project. ■ The Authority also received bids from seven companies for chemicals to be used in the pumping station and referred them to the engineer for tabulation and recommendation. Superintendent Hatton reported two bad leaks in the system. On January -10th at 5:30 p.m,, a six-inch line broke on the Singer estate, so there was no water in the tank. On January 15th a line broke at 4 p.m., resulting in water getting into the furnaces of houses on Victory Terrace?, Leetsdale. Both leaks were repaired as fast as the Authority's employees could make them. A motion was passed to advertise for bids for a new station wagon to replace the-present one, which is five years old and has traveled 42,000 miles. Mr. Murrer said that there is a problem of preparing deeds for,the property he is going to donate for the pumping station and the portion of the main which passed through his property on Camp Meeting Road. He said he hoped that the design of the line is ready now, so the attorneys can get to work on their end, especially since the Authority is going to open bids on the project on February 17th. Solicitor Carl Kercliner and the engineers were asked to get things ready. The Authority authorized a special account to receive the Federal Public "Works Acceleration project grant and Solicitor Kercliner said all necessary paper work had been completed for both die grant and for the loan to complete the Authority's share of the project cost The Board also established an escrow fund for pensions and instructed Secretary Wyrick to deposit it in the Sewicldey Savings and Loan Association, Mrs. Wyrik also said that the auditors had completed their allocation of billing'costs.
