At the Feb. 18 council meeting, Osborne Borough Council members expressed their concerns for citizen safety on the street-. Barbara Carrier, council member, described the work and how it affected traffic. “There was a break in the line along the road, and they tore up the road to fix it,” she said. “Water kept coming out of their hole and ran down the side of the street for about another month.” Water runoff is causing the stone wall along Beaver Boad to weaken, and the wall is current ly in danger of collapse “Then they tore up one side of the road and put loose gravel and a board over the hole,” she said “Sycamore is a very narrow road to begin with, and this has made it downright dangerous.” According to Carrier, loose • gravel and boards are covering some of the holes, posing a risk to drivers. A pipe also was reported still protruding from the road. Ray Wolfgang, superintendent of the Sewickley Water Authority, acknowledges there have been problems completing construction, but said the final touches to the project will be completed as soon as possible; “We put a small booster pump in a few years ago," he said. “Between Beaver Road and the pump, there was an old galvanized line. We replaced it with a new plastic line.” --------Coaflwml M tips at 412-494-901e-mail Sewigkley.rieraljcl^trinitv-pglii.oom
