PHOTOS/XRISTINA SERAFIN1 expected to cost $8 million By Bobby Cherry STAFF WRITER Aleppo Township officials plan to spend $450,000 in 2009 so engineers can begin work on the municipality's sewage system. ALEPPQ When the roughly $8 million plan is complete two years from now, most of Aleppo's 1,300 residents will have access to public sewage systems. “With the topography of the township, it may he difficult to connect every single home to the system,” said township Manager Gwen Patterson. What is unknown is whether residents will be forced to pay tap-in fees. ' “The hoard has to decide how it intends to fund the plan,” Patterson said. If residents are forced to pay tap-in fees, Patterson said those costs could he as high as $25,000 per customer. Patterson said once the the sewage system goes online, township officials could see more development. She said housing plans could spring up as public sewage systems make it easier for developers to build in the area. Under the state's Act 537 plan, Aleppo is required to resolve existing sewage disposal problems and provide for the future sewage disposal needs of new land development.
