Volume103,Jssue9 QSBORHI Officials agree on repairs to Beaver Road By Krisiina Kregiel__________ Staff writer With the beginning of the Osborne Elementary School renovation project right around the comer, a pre-construction meeting will be held today, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. where Osborne council will address the weight limitations for borough streets. Possible damage to Beaver Road, as a result of the construction project, has been a topic of discussion for the past several months between the borough and Quaker Valley School District. Council members feared they may need to make several repairs to Beaver Road, including repaving and possible sewer line replacement, following the project, which, they felt, should be the responsibility of the district. In January, council noted that the school board agreed to cover damages to Beaver Road as a result of the project and will issue a check for $30,000 to the borough. Council said the contractors should be informed that only Beaver Road could be used by construction vehicles as no other roads will be covered for damages in any way. Last month, the Quaker Valley School District awarded contracts tp R.A. Glancy and Sons Inc. of Gibsonia, for the general construction contract for $9,070,155; Moore-Boehm Enterprises Inc. of Lawrence, for the mechanical construction for $2,223,200; Vrabel Plumbing Co. Inc., of Gibsonia, for $1,059,800; and --------Continued on Pag* 2
