This has been in the works for more than a year, and it is the hope of council to get this project under way in the not too distant future. “The building will be for use primarily by residents of Sewickley Hills,” said Jim Barrack, borough engineer. “It is something that is needed, and I think it will be a real bonus to the community.” This new building, which will be an estimated 1,200 square feet, will encompass a 33’ x 17’ multipurpose room (hat will be • used for community gatherings, meetings and other (events. The building will also have restrooms that will accessible by people using the athletic facilities in the park. There will be storage for athletic equipment, borough records and voting machines. Paul Whitehead, an area architect, has come up with the designs that are currently being studied. The current building that is used for meetings and events is getting older, and council is hoping that a new one will improve the community. “It's important to update the facilities in the borough. This will give people a nice place to hold meetings, functions and other things of that nature,” said Charles Menzemer, vice president. This was originally a plan ‘ spawned by the strategic planning committee of Sewickley Hills, of which Menzemer is the chairman.
